See my full blog post on my website – Link in bio ?? This post is inspired by all the men & women who are hard-working contributing members of society who happen to also pursue their dreams despite their first career. ••• I have had a full time job in healthcare since age 16. I have been a cardiac registered nurse for over 8 years, 5 of which were working full time night shifts while also working a second nursing job per diem at a 2nd hospital. I have worked in an intermediate ICU setting (step-down) as well as a charge for the last several years working on every floor of the hospital. I can help run a code, teach a patient about their medications, & work life sustaining equipment at the bedside. I am not "just a model." ••• I have a passion for health, wellness and quality of life. I've used every opportunity to help promote those values to my patients. The more I studied health and wellness, the more I grew to believe that it starts with lifestyle habits such as regular nutrition and exercise. I have never seen a natural athlete stuck in terrible health crisis in 8 years. There's a reason for that. To live a fit and active life helps reduces the risk of diseases. ••• One day I myself realized that my life was spiraling out of control. I was overworked, overstressed, lacking sleep, overweight, fatigued and extremely unhappy. I decided to take control of my life and get my priorities straight. I wanted to be healthy, fit, strong, be a confident woman and work to prevent disease versus simply treat with medications after the fact. I wanted to change my life for the better and to help others before they lost control of their health too. ••• I've stayed at my patients' bedside all night to calm their anxieties about dying alone. I've massaged my patients back when meds no longer calmed then down from their chronic illness. I've talked to families when they were struggling over losing their mother or wife. I've helped rehab people who had lost limbs. I have made my patients laugh when they felt scared or embarrassed about their conditions. I cared then & I care now. Aesthetics are great but health & quality of life is everything. ••• Sincerely, Nurse Lauren

Ladies there is a difference between being "too into yourself" versus proud of what you've accomplished. I think all of us can say we've hated what we saw in the mirror at one time or another in our lives. Hating what you see is neither healthy or helpful. If you're looking for improvements, develop a regimented plan towards your body goals and get after it. If you already are and have a body you're proud of, don't ever feel ashamed to smile at what you see. As long as you're feeling happy, healthy and you worked for it, I don't see anything wrong in that! Too may girls body shame themselves or have a hard time getting the courage to even feel confident in their bodies. Let's encourage one another instead of hate on accomplishments. Also remember #progressnotperfection is my motto. — P.S. As a certified personal trainer, I'd love to help any of you interested – see link in bio.

Do you ever envision yourself somewhere else or doing something more? Do you ever get the feeling you are too comfortable? That you settled for less than you can accomplish? I felt that exact way 3 years ago. I sat exhausted at my nurse's station around 3 am thinking how can I help prevent people from getting sick at such a young age? How can I help lead others to a healthier, fuller life with more quality, happiness and energy? I felt lost, hopeless, exhausted, and useless. I wanted to have an impact on others to take charge of their lives and live it to their full potential rather than waiting for diseases to take their full effect. If you have a feeling inside of you that you can do more, for yourself or others, harness it and you won't regret it. Don't let getting comfortable or settling drown overshadows your desires to be better. #MondayMotivation ••• ?| @dallasfitnessphotos

Be honest with people but don't ever reveal all of your secrets. There are some things that cannot be imitated or learned through simple advice. Experience is needed to sharpen your own secret weapon. Earn it. ?? ••• ?| @ohrangutang ?? by the lovely @cristinapilo

Because it's ? Day ? If anyone tells you a booty can be built a booty in a few weeks or even a few short months is misleading you. It takes time, lots of hard work, the proper diet & more. That's why my 3 stage booty building guides do not have a time frame associated with it. Everyone is different, starts at different places, has a different workout ethic or diet plan. I designed my guides to be done for weeks or months on end. Link in bio if you're interested ? @laurendrainfitness ••• Photo by @ohrangutang and H&M by @cristinapilo
